About The Lee Park Foundation

The Lee Park Foundation was founded in 2022 to recognize and support unsung heroes who go above and beyond in helping others. We aim to be the small stepping stones to help their journey and inspire others to follow their example. Our primary grant-making programs is the Lotus Awards.

Dr. Lee

The Lotus Award for Nursing and Clinical Care was created in loving memory of Dr. Jang Ho Lee, who passed away in October 2022, and in appreciation of those who provided care to him at the end of his life. Dr. Lee lived his entire life practicing Buddhist doctrine and guided many people in meditation and Buddhist teaching. He earned a PhD in Asian medicine, specializing in herbal science and acupuncture, and treated many patients until the last days of his life. In his final weeks of his life, he received exceptional care from nurses and clinical staff at Holy Name Medical Center in New Jersey. His family was struck by the kindness, selflessness, love, and concern that members of the staff exhibited, above and beyond the responsibilities of their roles. The experience also caused the family to reflect on all the times that nurses and clinical staff have treated them exceptionally well, no matter their economic status, race, nationality, or station in life at the time. In gratitude for all those who help others out of the goodness of their hearts, often unseen and uncelebrated -- the Lotus Awards aim to lift up shining examples of service to others and community.
